I have a meme I wish I could post, but don't know how in this reply (?) Anyway, it is a quote by Lt. Colonel Jeff Cooper USMC, which says it best:
"If violent crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the Police, and he fears niether Judge nor Jury. Therefore, what he must be taught is to fear is his victim."
That's just a sampling of Col. Cooper's wisdom. I highly recommend (although I'm sure YOU are already familiar with) hIs "Principles of Personal Defense," "The Art of the Rifle," and "To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth." He's among my "personal pantheon of heroes and role models" (which also includes Barry Farber, Jean Shepherd, Long John Nebel, Aristide Bruant, Rabbi Meir Kahane and G. Gordon Liddy).

And, as I recall, it was Kunstler and Kuby who brought a civil suit against Bernard Goetz based solely on race.
Bernhard Goetz!! Think how things might have gone differently Tuesday morning if Bernie had been on that subway car!!
