Time to write a book!

Thanks, Jack. But so a whole dozen or so people can read it? I don't think so. Writing anything for publication presumes that one's thoughts are worth something; this little experiment has proven that mine are not. I can't even inspire in anyone the curiosity to want to hear "the rest of the story."

I knew you were smart enough to stay home but glad you confirmed it!

I expected the caption under the pic of you and "Dutch" to read "I'm the one on the right."

Great to hear the pitchman side of you. My 'rents/aged P's were both writers: Dad, a newspaper man, Mom an Ad agency gal. In Tulsa, we lived a modest life, Dad worked nights took care of my bro & i during much of the day. Mom worked for a large midwest Ad Agency. I was a model for baby ads, detergent, banking and cereal. My brother was seen nationally munching on Butterball turkeys, roller skates and Christmas cheeziness. Advertising elevated marginally past vaudeville in the 60's, with the backstory of improvised special effects for TV at the time.

I really enjoyed this post. You're a good egg.

We moved to NY in 1966, my Dad owned Popeil's pocket fisherman, Mom had the Ginsu knives and yes, the amazing Bamboo Steamer. One Christmas my Dad gifted the Rambo Knife w/survival gear in the handle and compass on the end of the grip.to most of his poker buddies. He was then a Senior Editor at Time mag and they often hosted presentations in the Time-Life building lobby.

I wish you a prosperous New Year. May 2025 be filled with joy, whatever occupies your time.

The Popeils and the Morrises are cousins; if you saw Ron Popeil and Ruby Morris side-by-side, you'd see the distinct family resemblance. It's been said that they're like the Rothschilds of the Pitch Biz, although some might liken them to the Corleones (but in a good way).

I have lots more stories about the Pitch Biz, which I'll tell if I continue writing. Right now I'm still struggling, literally, to survive the cold, even indoors; my house is 60º F. right now. Thanks for the good wishes (Back at ya!), but there isn't a lot of joy to be had around here.

Autobiographical is just fine...... Very interesting, intriguing, impressive. Best to stay home in such conditions. Just keep writing.

Grateful to hear you wisely stayed home. Was worried all day about you and conditions in your part of the country. Anyone who ventured out today was seriously deranged. The yarn shop I follow in your neck of the woods posted their second day of closure due to hazardous conditions. Warm up and write more. I’ll sleep far better knowing you wisely stayed home.
